Storyline: During the mid-19th century, in what is now South Dakota, Crazy Horse (Michael Greyeyes) of the Oglala Sioux rises to prominence in his tribe. He falls in love with the married Black Buffalo Woman (Irene Bedard), and uses his trance-like visions to help his uncle, Chief Red Cloud (Wes Studi), and his people fight for independence against the advancing American forces. Eventually, they defeat General Custer (Peter Horton) and his men, but they then must face the reality of Westward expansion.

Storyline: In the early 20th Century, Russian Czar Nicholas II (Ian McKellen) and his wife, Czarina Alexandra (Greta Scacchi), bring crazed monk Rasputin (Alan Rickman) into their royal court, believing he can heal their gravely ill son. But despite claiming a special connection with God, Rasputin also exhibits volatile and nefarious behavior, which threatens to corrupt the royal family from within. Meanwhile, the political situation outside the palace walls becomes increasingly tumultuous.

Storyline: John and Laura Baxter are in Venice when they meet a pair of elderly sisters, one of whom claims to be psychic. She insists that she sees the spirit of the Baxters' daughter, who recently drowned. Laura is intrigued, but John resists the idea. He, however, seems to have his own psychic flashes, seeing their daughter walk the streets in her red cloak, as well as Laura and the sisters on a funeral gondola.

Storyline: The UK is about to switch its currency from Pounds to Euros, giving a gang a chance to rob the poorly-secured train loaded with money on its way to incineration. But, during the robbery, one of the big bags falls literally from the sky on Damian's playhouse, a 7-year old given to talking to saints. The boy then starts seeing what the world and the people around him are made of. Ethics, being human and the soul all come to the forefront in this film.

Storyline: On New Year's Eve, a beautiful but penniless young woman (Catherine Hessling) trudges through the snowy streets of Paris attempting to sell matches to the wealthy passers-by. After staring longingly into the windows of restaurants at the safe and warm patrons within, the match girl attempts to escape the snow and cold by huddling into a corner near a toy shop. As the girl tries to warm herself with her matches, the shop's window display comes alive and beckons her into a fantasy world.

Storyline: In 1917, three shepherd children living just outside Fatima, Portugal have visions of a lovely lady in a cloud. Yet the children stand by their story, and the message of peace and hope the Lady brings. In the last vision, attended by thousands of people, the Lady proves her reality with a spectacular miracle that is seen by everyone present. Storyline: In New York, the former NYPD detective Ben Carson is hired to work as night watch of the remains of the Mayflower Department Store that was partially destroyed by fire many years ago. Ben became alcoholic and was retired from the police force after killing a man in a shooting. His marriage was also destroyed and now he is living in the apartment of his younger sister Angie. However he has not been drinking for three months and sees the employment as a chance to rebuild his life. When he goes to the rounds in his first night, he finds that the mirrors are impeccably clean and his colleague explains that the former night watch was obsessed with the mirrors. After a couple of nights, Ben sees weird images in the mirrors, but due to the lack of credibility of his past, his ex-wife Amy believes he has hallucinations as a side effect of his medication. When Angie is found brutally murdered in her bathtub, Ben discovers that there is an evil force in the mirror that is chasing him and ...
