#18. The Girl of the Golden West (1938)

Storyline: Mary Robbins is a moderately educated, beautiful, young woman who owns the saloon called "The Poker". She is the only woman in the town of Cloudee-making her the fancy of all the men there, especially to Sheriff Jack Rance. On the way to Monterey to sing at a mass officiated by Father Sienna, her stagecoach is held up by the infamous masked bandit, Ramerez. He too takes a fancy to Mary, and decides to secretly follow her, taking on the identity of an officer named, Lieutenant Johnson. While in Monterey, he dances, sings and courts Mary, who has now fallen in love with him. He then has to make a quick getaway. In the mean-time, Sheriff Jack has set up a trap to catch Ramerez at "The Poker". When Ramerez does arrive he soon discovers that Mary is the owner, and quickly changes to the identity of Lieutenant Johnson. How long can this sherade last?—Kelly

#22. Brothers of the West (1938)

Storyline: Tom Wade (Tom Tyler), agent for the Cattleman's Protective Association, receives word that his brother Ed Wade (Bob Terry), a cattle rancher, has disappeared and is suspected of murder. Tom goes to Ed's ranch and learns from Ed's wife, Annie (Dorothy Short), that Chandler (George Morrell) the banker was killed and robbed of a large amount on money. The bullet taken from Chandler's body was proved to have been fired from Ed's gun. During the investigation, Tom, working undercover, meets Celia Chandler (Lois Wilde), the banker's daughter, who is also trying to find out who killed her father. She accuses Ed of the murder and suspects Tom of being an accomplice. Tom's investigation leads him to suspect a lawyer named Jeff Tracey (Roger Williams), and while Tom is seeking proof, he learns that Tracey and his henchmen have Ed as a prisoner. Tom is ambushed and captured when he is about to discover where Tracey and his henchmen have Ed hidden, Mealwhile Celia has found Ed and discovered the truth. She hides when the outlaws arrive with Tom as their prisoner and later succeeds in releasing Tom. #23. Stormy Trails (1936)

Storyline: Stanton, with the aid of others, has a land-grab scheme going to take over the ranch owned by Tom Storm and his kid-brother Billy, since Stanton knows there is gold on the property. To complicate matters, Stanton has a henchman file a lawsuit against Storm, and has Billy Storm cheated in a poker game and is holding the I.O.Us over Billy in order to get him to aid Stanton's rustlers. Plus, the bank holds a mortgage on the ranch which is due in a few days. In order to get the money needed to buy the ranch when the bank forecloses, Stanton sends three men to rob the bank, one of them being Spain who is the man who filed the lawsuit. Tom is at the bank when it is held-up and kills the third bandit, Spain, but the other two get away with the money and take it to Spain. Stanton then accuses Tom of intentionally murdering Spain. The gang continues to make raids on Tom's cattle-herd so he won't have the money to pay off the mortgage-note. Stanton deposits the stolen money in the bank, and his gang runs Tom's herd over a cliff, and Tom is also injured in the stampede. The banker has no recourse other than to put the property up at public auction. But the banker has checked the serial-numbers on the money Stanton deposited and knows it is the robbery-money. The auction is held---and Tom IS NOT there---but the banker bids against Stanton, foils his plans and then has him charged with robbery and murder, while Tom is wandering around horseless and helpless. There is also one other man who knows the property has gold on it, and he is the father of Tom's sweetheart. #24. The Ghoul (1933)

Storyline: Aga Ben Dragore, a knife-wielding, enigmatic Egyptian Arab, is seeking a sacred jewel which has been stolen from an ancient tomb. The thief tells him that he sold it to Professor Morlant, a fanatical Egyptologist who fervently believes in the pagan power of the ancient Egyptian gods. Dying from a mysteriously disfiguring ailment, Morlant entrusts his faithful manservant to bandage the jewel in his hand and warns him of dire consequences if his dying wishes aren't carried out. After his burial in an Egyptian-type tomb on his estate, an anonymous robber steals the precious stone from the corpse. Although the ghastly-looking dead man rises at the next full moon to seek revenge, neither he nor the audience know which member of the household possesses the powerful jewel.—duke1029@aol.com

Storyline: After her father's death, Mary Rainey takes over the Rainey Circus (which operates twice daily, rain or shine) but runs into financial troubles. Storyline: The Durango Valley is being pillaged by a mysterious bandit known only as "The Shadow." Keene Cordner, over the protests of ranch foreman Tanner gets a job on John McKay's ranch. The sheriff, investigating a killing, comes to the ranch and arrests Keen based on the eye-witness testimony of a deputy. Tanner helps him escape and hides him out in a cabin. Storyline: Ted Hayden and his pal Dusty Rhodes come across a dying outlaw, Gatt Ganns.
