Short Review

Island of Terror should be terrible. With a monster that looks like a cross between an avocado and a slug and moves about as fast as one, this movie had little potential for suspense. Even so it manages to be mildly exciting, saved by an interesting setting, an island off the coast of Ireland, and the performance of Peter Cushing, who has a talent for raising the silliest horror movies to heights they should never have reached.
