Storyline: Late 19th century in Alexandria. Two traditionally rival Turkish families, "Seferoglu"s and "Tellioglu"s are competing for the "Green Valley". The winner will be determined by Daver Bey, who has a beautiful young daughter, Leyla. Both families try to arrange a marriage between a man from their family and Leyla, so that Daver Bey will be inclined to give the green valley to his "relatives". Tellioglus, who are behind in the race, desperately find a final solution: They will fake their idiotic butler, Saban, as the highest ranked Ottoman soldier in Egypt: Tosun Pasha.

#2. Lorna Doone (1922)

Storyline: As a young girl, aristocrat Lorna (Madge Bellamy) meets and befriends John Ridd (John Bowers), a sweet farm boy whom she immediately adores. Soon after, Lorna is kidnapped by Sir Ensor Doone (Frank Keenan) and raised among his band of outlaws, unaware of her royal lineage. Good-natured Sir Ensor protects Lorna from the others -- but when he becomes gravely ill, a young, violent outlaw decides to claim Lorna as his own. She soon realizes that she must somehow contact John, so he can rescue her.

#5. Omkara (2006)

Storyline: Advocate Raghunath Mishra has arranged the marriage of his daughter, Dolly, with Rajan, knowing fully well that Dolly loves Omkara Shukla. Before the marriage could take place, the groom's party is attacked, they flee, and Dolly is reportedly abducted. Raghunath is able to trace Dolly to Omkara, a criminal and hit-man, a verbal confrontation ensues until Politician Bhaisaab telephonically intervenes, and a crestfallen Raghunath faces the reality that Dolly was not abducted but is here with Omkara by her own free will. He warns Omkara, and departs. Shortly thereafter, Bhaisaab is shot at and wounded, announces that Omkara should stand in the next election, and as a result, Omkara appoints one of his lieutenants', Keshav Upadhyay in his place as the 'Bahubali". Omkara realizes that he may have blundered in having Keshav succeed him, as Keshav is unable to control his temper when under the influence of alcohol, which puts him in the bad books of Omkara. Storyline: Retired, wealthy sea Captain James McKay arrives in the vast expanse of the West to marry fiancée Pat Terrill. Pat is spoiled, selfish and controlled by her wealthy father, Major Henry Terrill. Storyline: After her husband John McKay is killed in an ongoing feud with the Canfield family, a woman takes her baby boy Willie to her sister's house in New York hoping he will never know of the feud with the Canfields. Twenty years later Willie is a grown man and he receives a letter saying he has inherited his father's estate and must travel to his family home to take possession. On the train there he meets a beautiful young woman and falls in love only to learn that she's a Canfield. He accepts her invitation to dinner and quickly realizes that the Canfield men won't kill him while he's in their home. Storyline: A poor but ambitious young man Ajay Sharma is a devoted son to his widowed, traumatized, amnesiac mother. He leaves home for Bombay to fulfill the mysterious promise he made to himself and his mother. On the way he gets a lift from his childhood friend Vicky Malhotra. Ajay has secretly seduced Seema, the elder daughter of business tycoon Madan Chopra and on the side, he also makes acquaintance of Chopra and his younger daughter Priya at a car race in Madras.
