Storyline: Jack Slade, son of a famed lawman and man-hunter, is hired by a Pinkerton detective, Joseph Ryan, to help wipe out a gang of outlaws and train robbers, Billy Wilcox, Harry Sutton and Little Blue Raven, and their women, Texas Rose, Polly Logan and Laughing Sam. Storyline: When a wagon team headed by John Ames (William Duncan),loaded with gold and heading for California, is ambushed by Lee Tate (Charles Bickford) and his renegades, only Dick Ames (Gene Reynolds) and Bob Ames (Billy Lee), John's two young sons escape. Bob is taken away by Tate, who brings him up as his own son. Dick, left for dead, witnesses the massacre, and is later found by Rafael Lopez (J. Carroll Naish), a Mexican prospector. Storyline: In order to end the cattle rustling, Gene Autry becomes one of the first ranchers in his territory to fence in the open range with barbed wire and he incurs the wrath of small-ranch owner Ginger Kirby. Range warfare, fanned by livery stable owner Sandy Reeves, breaks out between the two factions of ranchers to differ on the use of barbed-wire fences. Reeves hopes the fighting will drive the cattlemen out of business and he can use the range for sheep. Gene and Ginger patch up their differences and with the help of Duke Kirby, her younger brother, Autry discovers that Reeves is responsible for most of the trouble.
