Storyline: At the age of 24, American director Barbara Sonneborn lost her husband in the Vietnam War. Twenty years after his death, Sonneborn sets out to interview other American and Vietnamese women whose spouses died in the conflict. Along the way she meets a Vietnamese woman who was forced into prostitution during the war, an American woman whose husband died of chemical poisoning years after the conflict ended and a woman who worked as a North Vietnamese spy.

#3. Indochine (1992)

Storyline: This story is set in 1930, at the time when French colonial rule in Indochina is ending. A widowed French woman who works in the rubber fields, raises a Vietnamese princess as if she was her own daughter. Storyline: It is French Colonial Vietnam in 1929. A young French girl from a family that is having some monetary difficulties is returning to boarding school. #5. The Quiet American (1958)

Storyline: In this adaptation of Graham Greene's prophetic novel about U.S. foreign policy failure in pre-war Indochina, Audie Murphy plays an innocent Young American opposite the older, cynical Brit Sir Michael Redgrave. They play out their widely different views on the prospects struggle for the hearts and minds of the Vietnamese people in their competition over a young woman. Murphy wants to reform her and make her a typical middle class American housewife; Redgrave accepts her inability to formulate or retain a political ideal and while promising her no real future, he objects to Murphy's attempts to change her. #9. Heaven and Earth (1993)

Storyline: Le Ly (Hiep Thi Le) lives in a small Vietnamese village whose serenity is shattered when war breaks out.
