Storyline: Satyavati lives a poor lifestyle along with her widower dad in Sonarpur, and is a devotee of Devi Maa Santoshi, (the daughter of Bhagwan Shri Ganesh, who had created her so that his two sons could have a sister to tie a Raakhee on their wrists on Raksabandhan). While returning home one day, Satyavati is molested by Banke, and she is rescued by Birajram, who lives in Mirpur, along with his widowed mom, six elder brothers, and their respective wives and children. Both Satyavati and Birajram fall in love, and with the approval of their respective families, get married. After moving in with Birajram, Satyavati finds out that her husband is referred to as the slacker, is fed leftovers, and is abused and ill-treated by everyone save for his mother and eldest brother, Dayaram. Storyline: In Boston, the dirty cop Nick hides gold that he has stolen from drug-dealers with his partner Hayes in the backyard of his house. However, on the next morning, Nick tells Hayes that he will deliver the evidence to the police since he loves his wife Julia and he could not face her acting that way. Nick and Hayes are assigned to a raid against a dangerous gang and unexpectedly Hayes kills Nick. Nick is drawn by a tunnel and based on his previous experience in the police department, he is assigned in the afterlife by the Proctor to join the Rest in Peace Department that protects the living world from the undead and work with the old-fashioned agent Roy. Roy and Nick accidentally find that Hayes in plotting a scheme to revert the sense of the tunnel to the afterlife and bring the Apocalypse to Earth.

Storyline: There are lots of Gods in Hindu India. One of the Gods is called Yama, or the God of death. In this case Yama is asked to bring in the lifeless body of a rich Indian called Aditya. Yama does so. On the way, Aditya soul pleads with him to set him free and back to life again, as he has a lot of unfinished business to attend to. Yama refuses to do so. But when Aditya persists, Yama lets him have a second chance. He tells the dead man that he can live, resolve all his problems within a set period of time. Then after that Yama will come again and take his life. Aditya is then sent down to Earth so that he can try and resolve the problems that he had left unfinished. But Aditya finds that he cannot touch anything, and no one can really see nor hear him. So how he is going to solve his problems? Will Yama help him out?Aditya (Shahid Kapoor) is a happy man: his sister is getting married, he is in love with his sweetheart Piya (Amrita Rao) and he has recently invented a new revolutionary car model. But his happiness is short-lived when he dies in an accident and is sent to heaven. He pleads with Yamaraj 'M.A.' (Sanjay Dutt), the God-cum-Messenger of death and requests to be sent to earth for some time. Yamaraj accepts his request, albeit reluctantly, and Aditya is sent back to with a new companion: a child who had died on the same day as Aditya.
