He has just quit his job as a hack writer for a bad television comedy, he, beyond the ten second rush of endorphins during the actual act of quitting, now regretting the decision, especially as he isn't sure he can live off his book writing career. He is paying two alimonies, his second ex-wife, Jill Davis, a lesbian, who is writing her own tell-all book of their acrimonious split. The one somewhat positive aspect of his life is that he is dating a young woman named Tracy, although she is only seventeen and still in high school. Largely because of their differences a big part of which is due to their ages, he does not see a long term future with her. Storyline: Danny Rose is a manager of artists, and although he's not very successful, he nevertheless goes out of his way to help his acts. So when Lou Canova, a singer who has a chance of making a come-back, asks Danny to help him with a problem, Danny helps him. This problem is Lou's mistress Tina. Lou wants Tina to be at his concerts, otherwise he can't perform, but he's married, so Danny has to take her along as if she was his girlfriend. Danny however gets more than he has bargained for when two mobsters come looking for the guy who has hurt their brother by stealing the heart of Tina, the girl he loves.

#5. Dangerously They Live (1942)

Storyline: After a traffic accident solely involving a taxi in New York City, the Jane Doe taxi passenger is brought into the hospital, she who is physically all right but who is suffering from retrograde amnesia from the accident. She is assigned under the care of Dr. Michael Lewis, an intern at the hospital, as he is doing research on such amnesia cases. It isn't until a Mr. Goodwin comes to the hospital claiming that she is his daughter Jane that she remembers who she is and the situation: Jane Greystone working for British Intelligence, she who was in the process of being kidnapped by the taxi driver as she has information on the location of British war ships that the Nazis are trying to obtain. She figures the taxi driver and Mr. Goodwin are working for the Nazis. She has to try and convince Mike of who she is and that both their lives are in danger, especially as she requires his help in getting out of this predicament. Mike is torn in believing her and thinking she having an overactive imagination due to the trauma, which is only complicated when Goodwin brings in his own medical specialist, Dr. Ingersoll, who just happens to be Mike's former mentor, but who just happens to be working for the Nazis. Mike's primary concern is Jane's well being, especially as he starts to fall for her, as they get into greater danger at the hands of among others Dr. Ingersoll.—Huggo

Storyline: The life of four best friends in Paris: Antoine (a gym school teacher), Jeff (director of a monthly journal), Alex (Jeff's associate in the monthly journal and a Don Juan) and Manu (owner of fine food store). Their time is shared between their respective jobs, their relationship with women (their own and others...) and the times they meet together to discuss about life and play sport lottery. #9. Scenes of the Crime (2001)

Storyline: Lenny Burroughs is a struggling auto mechanic who serves as part-time driver for local gangster Rick in order to earn enough to buy his own garage and pay for his upcoming marriage. Unbeknownst to Lenny, his assignment includes kidnapping Jimmy Berg, an important gang kingpin who has robbed rival criminal Trevor Morrison of over $7 million dollars and killed three of his men including the son of Morrison's partner. The plan is for Morrison to trade Berg back to his partner, Steve Wayne, in exchange for the return of his money, a million dollar indemnity, and a percentage of union municipal contracts which are very profitable for the politically savvy Wayne. However, something goes wrong. Rick contradicts Trevor's plans and seems to be following the agenda of an unknown third party by ordering Lenny to a side street instead of the agreed-upon location. When he leaves the van, he's immediately run down by Wayne's men, who execute him gangland style. Fearing he'll be killed too, Lenny grabs the gun and threatens to shoot Berg unless the hoods return to their vehicles. A grim stand-off occurs on the street and in a local deli as negotiations continue on the phone as Lenny finds he has no choice but to act in Trevor's interest.—duke1029@aol.com
