#20. Breakthrough (1978)

Storyline: In 1944 German sergeant Rolf Steiner is on the Russian Front where out of frustration he hits an officer. Steiner is sent on leave to Paris to avoid further incidents. In Paris news of the Allied Invasion of Normandy arrive and Steiner meets up with his unit there being recently transferred from Russia. Steiner finds out that his old company commander from the Russian Front, Major Von Stransky, is his new commander. Steiner and Von Stransky hate one another. The German general in charge of the area is General Hofmann who's a member of the conspiracy to kill Hitler. Hofmann hopes to surrender his troops to the Americans. He reveals his plans to Sergeant Steiner and asks Steiner to meet the Americans to negotiate a possible surrender if Hitler is eliminated. When the plot to kill Hitler fails, the surrender plan is in jeopardy.—nufs68

Storyline: 1939. During a blinding snowstorm, a young man in the Polish forest rescues a young unconscious woman who lost her way, he who takes her back to his farmhouse. It is love at first sight for both. That love does not change when the two learn of the other. He is Oskar Koenig, a Nazi officer assigned to an undercover unit, the men in the unit acting as Polish farmers to discover and turn in any Polish resistant fighters. She is Rachel, a Jew, the daughter of a rabbi, and fiancée to her childhood friend Bernard. She thought she loved Bernard until she experienced what she knows is true love for Oskar. Oskar is only fighting in the war to please his father, Nazi General Martin Koenig. In reality, Oskar, a poet with a romantic spirit to match, does not believe in war or fighting, and does not believe in what the Nazis, and thus by association what he and his father are doing. Due to circumstances of the war, Oskar and Rachel become separated, with their love for each other still in tact. Oskar's mother, Marlene Koenig, upon learning of a Jewish woman in Oskar's heart, encourages him to pursue her, she willing to provide the resources to do so, which, if Oskar accepts her offer, would place both their lives at risk. Even if Oskar and Rachel were ever to encounter each other again, their experiences and the circumstances of the war may affect if they can join together as a couple, the war which may place them on opposing sides of a kill or be killed scenario.—Huggo

Storyline: While babysitting a boy and his infant brother, Casey Beldon has a dreadful nightmare involving a weird dog and an evil child, and she tells her best friend Romy over the phone. Casey is haunted by this boy, and when she goes to the ophthalmologist, he asks if she has a twin brother or sister. She asks her father and discovers that her mother lost a son that died in the womb. Casey suspects that she is haunted by the spirit of her brother. She finds a letter addressed to a woman called Sofi Kozma and a creepy picture at home that belonged to her mother. She goes with Romy to a retirement home to meet Sofi, a survivor of the experiments during the Holocaust. But Sofi tells Casey that she had never met her mother and later calls Casey to tell her she is in great danger.
