Nick (Henry Thomas), an artist and a teacher from an affluent family, has chosen to live in a dingy apartment in Brooklyn, N.Y., where he gets into a dispute with his landlord and his noisy neighbor Will (David O'Hara). When the landlord is murdered, Nick and Will regard each other with suspicion, and Glass (Bill Duke), the detective on the case, questions them both. After Nick begins experiencing hallucinations and blackouts, though, he begins to suspect himself.
