Harry Evers (Gene Wilder) and Marvin Ellison (Bob Newhart) are part of a regular Thursday night poker game that provides them a much needed respite from the drudgery of their daily lives. But when Harry and Marvin are kicked out of the group over an argument, they decide not to tell their wives, but rather to find other diversions. Over the course of a few outings together, the men find themselves growing close -- until their wives discover the deception.
