Storyline

After his manager, Kenny Donford (Bill Bixby), loses money gambling on horse races, slick stock car driver Steve Grayson (Elvis Presley) must earn enough on the track to keep Kenny out of jail. With the help of his mentor, Abel Esterlake (William Schallert), Steve does his best to win a series of races at Charlotte Speedway. Along the way, he begins to fall for Susan Jacks (Nancy Sinatra), the beautiful Internal Revenue Service agent assigned to Kenny's case.

Short Review

The first "Hangout" number has bounce and color. But, whoa, the racing scenes are a grainy do-loop bore. The IRS office music/dance sequence (yes, there is one) so stupefied me that it becomes worth noting for sheer gray suited dumbness. The film does have a 1968 time capsule (sure, with Elvis) feel about it.
