Captain Crowther's lot is not a happy one! Five of his crew have to be replaced and at such short notice before the voyage begins there isn't much to choose from. Not only does he get the five most incompetent shipmates ever to sail the seven seas, but the passengers turn out to be a rather strange bunch too. The SS Happy Wanderer will never be the same.—Simon N. McIntosh-Smith

Not one of the best Carry On Films, but not one of the worst. Many of the great cast members are missing, such as Charles, Joan, Hattie, to name but a few. The story centres around the goings-on aboard a cruise ship. The captain is subjected to one drama after another from his incompetent crew. Kenneth Williams is the star of the show here, but even with his magical comedy genius, the film is still short of laughs
