Short Review

Funny and enjoyable tale of a good ol' country boy who becomes the ambassdor to Sylvania. It's a troubled little country. When he arrives, they have only had one revolution that week! You can tell this movie was crafted just for Will Rodgers style. It gives him excellent opportunities to lampoon governments and the stupid things they do. It also, shows how well he interacts with youngsters, and his rope tricks was a highlight of the movie for me -- he was fantastic! It's reassuring and sad to know that the government in 1931 was just as screwed up as it is today.Catch this one if you can. I think most will be surprised at how well it still plays in 2008.
