Storyline: After robbing a bank Murphy assumes the identity of his pursuer, a famous US Marshal, when he stumbles into a town and is confronted by the local judge, Matthau. Murphy is forced to remain as the new Marshal; an old flame, Scala, nearly unmasks him by accident, only to be forced to assume the ruse of being Murphy's wife. The "couple" given a house and respectability, which neither has had before. They maintain the charade to avoid hurting a young orphan boy, Matthau's ward. Storyline: Texas, 1878: cheerful outlaw-buddies Jim, Lorn and Wahoo rescue spunky orphan Rannie Carter from rustling racketeers, then are forced to separate. Lorn goes on to bigger and better robberies, while Jim and Wahoo are (at first reluctantly) maneuvered into joining the Texas Rangers. For friendship's sake, the three try to keep out of direct conflict, but a showdown begins to look inevitable. #19. Frontier Outlaws (1944)

Storyline: Wolf Valley is in the throes of a land-grab engineered by Barlow and Taylor. The fight against them is led by Billy Carson, who is framed on a murder charge which the outlaws believe will drive him out of the territory. But instead of running, Billy surrenders and stands trial before Judge Ryan, a square shooter. After weighing the evidence, Ryan finds Bill not guilty but sentences Billy to jail for 30 days for disturbing the peace because the Judge thinks that is the only way to save Billy from the vengeance of Barlow and Taylor. But, without Billy's leadership, the settlers are helpless and ranches are burned, cattle rustled, the town is shot up, the bank robbed and the mining claim owned by Billy and Fuzzy Jones is confiscated. #21. The Return of Frank James (1940)

Storyline: Frank James, the brother of Jesse James, has been laying low, living as a farmer and taking care of Clem, the son of one of the members of the James gang. He gets word that Jesse was killed by Bob and Charlie Ford, he hoped that the law would deal with them but when he learns that the railroad man whom he and Jesse terrorized contracted them to kill Jesse and helped them get off, he goes after them. Clem whom he told to remain on the farm goes with him and when it's impossible for him to do so, Frank has no choice to let him tag along. Now in order to cover their tracks they start telling people that Frank James is dead and that they saw it. Eleanor Stone, a female reporter, who wants to write about it interviews them and they are both taken with each other. But eventually she learns who Frank is from the Pinkerton detective who is tracking them but doesn't turn them in. But eventually Frank learns that his farm hand, Pinky has been arrested as his accomplice and is about to be hung. Now short of knowing who Frank is, he has not done anything to help Frank, so Frank has to decide what is more important getting the Fords or helping Pinky.—rcs0411@yahoo.com

Storyline: Jack Slade, son of a famed lawman and man-hunter, is hired by a Pinkerton detective, Joseph Ryan, to help wipe out a gang of outlaws and train robbers, Billy Wilcox, Harry Sutton and Little Blue Raven, and their women, Texas Rose, Polly Logan and Laughing Sam. Slade gets off to a slow beginning when his gun is taken away from him by Texas Rose during a train robbery. #30. Carson City (1952)

Storyline: Banker William Sharon becomes desperate that his gold and silver shipments from Carson City to Virginia City are the helpless targets of a band of outlaws called "The Champagne Bandits." In true Robin Hood-fashion, after robbing the stage of its bullion, they treat its passengers to a fried chicken picnic replete with champagne. Sharon becomes convinced that the only way to foil the gang is to build a railroad to carry the ore, but that will take an extraordinary engineer in such mountainous territory. Sharon finds his man in brawling adventurer Jeff Kincaid, an experienced hand at difficult jobs and former resident of Carson City who knows the difficult terrain very well. It becomes a reunion of sorts as Kincaid's half brother works for the local newspaper, but they soon become rivals for the affections of Susan Mitchell, the publisher's daughter.
