#2. Tilai (1990)

Storyline: Set in a pre-colonial African past, Tilai is about an illicit love affair and its consequences. Saga returns to his village after an extended absence to discover that his father has taken Nogma, Saga's promised bride, for himself. Still in love with each other, the two begin an affair, although it would be considered incestuous. When the liaison is discovered, Saga's brother, Koudri, pretends to kill Saga for the honor of the family and village. Saga and Nogma flee to another village, but when Nogma's birth mother dies, he returns home. Having brought ruin on the family, Saga is shot by Koudri, who walks off into exile and probable death.—Don Larsson

#4. Khoya Khoya Chand (2007)

Storyline: Circa 1960s Lucknow-based author Zafar Ali Naqvi, who has issues with his father and his four wives, including the 4th one who lusts after him, re-locates to Bombay, starts writing for movies, and falls in love with starlet Nikhat Sheikh. Both decide to get married but cancel the plans at the last minute after she finds out that her mother and her live-in boyfriend, Michael, have gambled all her savings. #5. Woman Against Woman (1938)

Storyline: Cynthia is married to Steve and is a selfish hard woman. When Steve divorce's Cynthia, even his mother is on Cynthia's side. While pleading a case in Washington, Steve meets a woman named Maris and falls for her. Maris does not know if she is going to the altar or the chopping block, but they marry and come back to his hometown. Unfortunately, Maris is the outsider, and being a small town where Cynthia and Steve grew up, everyone is Cynthia's friend and not Maris. #6. The Living Ghost (1942)

Storyline: When wealthy banker Walter Craig (Gus Glassmire) disappears, former private eye Nick Trayne (James Dunn) comes out of retirement to find the missing man. As Nick gets to know the contentious Craig family, the rich man reappears, but someone has put him in an unresponsive, zombie-like state. Then a member of the family is found stabbed to death, with Walter standing over him. When Walter attacks Nick, it seems that the catatonic banker is the killer, but Nick thinks there is more to the mystery.
