Storyline: It is 1892 in Death Valley and the yields from the Borax ore are getting so small that refining it is a losing proposition. The only thing that will save the company is a new deposit of high grade Borax, and Bill has a pouch of it that he got from a dead prospector that he buried on the road. Roper knows the value of the strike could be worth millions, but he needs Bill to find the prospectors' claim so they can record it and become rich partners. While Roper has no intention of cutting Bill in on the millions, he also has his eye on young Jean. Storyline: As owners of the richest mine in Alaska, Roy Glenister and his partner Dextry go to the States during the winter after Glenister has reached an "understanding" with dance hall girl Cherry Malotte. Meanwhile, in Washington, Alex McNamara wants to send corrupt Judge Stillman to Nome to further his scheme to rob all of the mine owners in Alaska of their claims. When the judge becomes ill, he sends his unwitting niece Helen Chester with the important documents to Alaska. On the trip, she meets and is mutually attracted to Glenister. In Alaska, McNamara's scheme is almost accomplished until Glenister and Dextry, with the aid of lawyer Bill Wheaton, precipitate the arrest of the conspirators and the restoration of their claims. The Bronco Kid, who with Cherry had hoped to keep Helen and Glenister apart, turns out to be Helen's long-lost brother. In the end, Helen and Glenister admit they love each other.—Pamela Short

#20. Silver Bears (1978)

Storyline: Financial wizard "Doc" Fletcher (Sir Michael Caine) is sent by crime boss Joe Fiore (Martin Balsam) to buy a bank in Switzerland in order to more easily launder their profits. When he arrives, Fletcher finds that the bank, acquired by his associate Prince di Siracusa (Louis Jourdan), consists of some shabby offices above a restaurant. To make up for this, the Prince suggests that Fletcher invests in a silver mine owned by Shireen and Agha Firdausi (Stéphane Audran and David Warner). This solves one problem, but the mine also attracts the attention of some of the most powerful people in the silver business. Storyline: Ken Baxter and his two pals, Pancho and Panhandle, discover Professor Wahl injured and wandering on the range. They take him to the Blue Mesa Trading Post, where two archaeologists, Dr. Flotow and Baron Starkoff, foreign government representatives, are staying. Both want to secure control of a supply of helium gas found in an ancient Indian cave. Wahl, working for the federal government, is murdered at the Blue Mesa. The land strip on which the cave is located is claimed by Letty and Jim Morgan, brother and sister owners of the Lazy Y Ranch. Tin Cup Ranch owner Joe Larkin hires Ken to take possession of a cabin on the Morgan land in order to gain title.
