Calibre (2018) Movie Review
Vaughan and Marcus drove to a village in Scottish Highland to hunt in the forest ...... When they reached their destination, they checked into a hotel and each of them hooked up with a local girl.
The next day, they left the hotel and drove into the forest. Vaughn claimed he forgot to bring bullets for his 0.243 caliber shotgun, but Marcus' was a 0.270 caliber shotgun. So, Marcus had no choice but to lend Vaughn his other 0.22 caliber shotgun. ......
When Vaughn pointing at a deer by his shotgun, he accidentally shot the boy in the forehead, who stood on the other side of the deer. The boy's father who was looking for the boy, found the horrific scene, and was furious with his gun on hand. Marcus, afraid that Vaughn was being shot, killed the boy's father from behind to protect Vaughn ...... At this point, Not only was Vaughn ungrateful to Marcus, he yelled that he should call the police ......
That night, Marcus and Vaughn pretend that nothing wrong happened and went to a local pub to have a meal, where Logan, a local resident, so enthusiastically tried to make friends with the two that they couldn't refuse, therefore, they had drinks together ...... Vaughn is so depressed that he almost revealed what they had done......
Late at night, Marcus and Vaughn quietly left the hotel and drove into the forest, where they dug a hole to bury the dead. When Marcus picked up the boy's body, he found a bullet hole in the tree trunk next to him. Marcus used his knife to dig out the bullet and found that it was a 0.22 caliber bullet fired by Vaughn; Marcus was alert enough to touch the back of the boy's head and found no blood at all. There the bullet was not breakdown through his forehead... Marcus used his knife to dig out the bullet in the boy's forehead and was surprised to find that it was not a 0.22 caliber bullet. Apparently, the boy was not killed by Vaughn but someone else. But Marcus killed the boy's father in order to protect Vaughn, so Marcus was afraid that Vaughn would learn the truth and call the police to clear his name, resulting in himself being sentenced to prison for murder, so Marcus didn’t reveal the truth......
At noon on the third day, as soon as the two woke up, a number of local residents came downstairs led by Brian, stabbed the tires of the two men's SUV and beat up Marcus, claiming that Marcus had not only slept with his niece, but also gave her a bag of cocaine ......
With a punctured tire, the two, who had originally planned to escape today, had to stay where they were and need to borrow a car tomorrow get out of the village...... In the afternoon, at the pub, Logan felt sorry that those two out-of-towners were beaten up and convinced Brian to apologize to Vaughan and Marcus ...... While drinking, someone at the pub said Brian's nephew Sammy went camping in the woods and didn't return for a day and night......
That night, Logan decided to ask all the men from the village to help Brian go into the forest to find Sammy, and invited Vaughn, Marcus together to assist ...... Those two have no choice but to follow them ...... The hound sniffed out the place, where the boy’s body was buried, and those two idiots just run away without even explaining themselves in a calm manner.
Brian, who caught Vaughn first, violently beaten him and then wanted to shoot him, thanks to Logan persuasion that save Vaughn's life. Unaware of the truth, Vaughn confessed to how they murdered buried the body ......
After capturing Marcus, Brian insisted on killing the two to pay for the lives of the boy and the father. But after Logan’s persuasion, Brian finally decided to let Vaughn, who murdered by accident, hold the gun and kill Marcus, who intentionally killed him......
Vaughn, a vile, ungrateful man, shoot his friend in the head in order to save his own life ......
