Storyline

Roland Sallinger is an LA cop who after nearly being killed by his greedy partner, and eventually being forced to retire for medical reasons, flees to San Antonio, Texas, after being asked to work as a bodyguard for the daughter of a wealthy businessman. The businessman had been a colleague of Sallinger years before, when they were both cops. When mobsters kidnap the businessman's daughter, he hunts them down to rescue her and protect her.—Voltage Pictures

Short Review

Pour sa première collaboration avec Keoni Waxman (qui deviendra son go-to-guy par la suite), Steven Seagal retourne à l'écriture avec The Keeper, une énième histoire de bodyguard amené à protéger à nouveau celle dont il s'occupait quand elle était gosse de riche. Force est de constater que ça faisait longtemps que Seagal ne s'était pas autant fait plaisir, avec moulinette de bras, accent sur les gunfights et one-liners dévastateurs. Bien évidemment, il suffit d'un petit quart d'heure pour se foutre de l'intrigue, mais Waxman est assez doué pour faire passer The Keeper pour un bon divertissement de fin de soirée. Et pour une fois, Liezl Carstens, la lead féminine, est plutôt bonne actrice.
