Not sure how I missed this one when it first came out, being the Alamo buff that I am, but I saw most of it the other night on cable, except for the first hour or so. In retrospect, my lasting image of Stacy Keach, acting like a buffoon at the battle of San Jacinto was quite comical, especially when it was done in slow motion with an o.k. soundtrack backing it up. It was like watching the 3 Stooges in slow motion while listening to the soundtrack of The Big Country.Ricky Schroder and Randy Travis did a good job, but the guy who played Rusty Griswold in the first two Vacation movies was totally out of place. They might as well have played Chevy Chase as Stephen F Austin instead of the weepy Patrick Duffy.
