Short Review

Big fan of Margi Clarke this movie is ok and it serves her Justice, she's a great actress in the movie but the movie is just a bit dull.... and I don't just mean the sets. It's just quite difficult seeing somebody with a thick scale scouser accent act alongside a thick American accent . Carol baker who I shall point out is amazing I actually don't think there is anything wrong with the Casting of this movie I just think the movie is a bit lost it was released in the cinema but it only has a made for TV feel to it.What is very interesting about the movie is poverty on both sides of the Atlantic and that is quite interesting the main suporting actress in the second half of the movie Carol Baker is an old good time girl who is now just a servant for a hotel. I find that very interesting.Without giving too much away Margi Clarke realises she has a knack for boxing she has a lot of s*** in her life and she eventually has enough, bad men, bad company , no money and to top it off getting arrested it all just piles up untill she decides enough is enough, her mom is dead and she trys to tracks down her father by going to America her father who left to become a world famous boxer. She leaves England to track him down so she could follow in his footsteps and become a world famous boxer just like him...... she manages to track her father down and it turns out he's an alcoholic living in a slum. Margi Clarke never got to see her father because he left when she was just born and the only evidence of his existence or information she had on him was a postcard with a picture of him and Carol bakers character.
