When American pilot Robert (Chris Makepeace) is shot down over Japan during World War II, his captors plan to execute him, until the village elder, Fukushima (Pat Morita), comes to his rescue. As Robert is assimilated into the village's daily life, he becomes close to his captors, especially a young widow named Miyoko (Mari Sato). When one of the locals catches wind of their relationship, however, it threatens both Robert and Miyoko's life in the village.

Cheap production, almost all the actors were either 2nd or 3rd generation Japanese American and either spoke Japanes badly or hadn't spoken it in a long time. The village was about as authentic as a town in an Italian spaghetti western. Both main Japanese characters spoke English!! Impossible for Japanese villagers in the remote countryside 67 years ago, much less a young girl. Again, like so many other uninspired films, the writers & producers relied upon cheap romance instead of real content. A painful piece of junk to watch.
