Frankie (Juan Gonzalez) is a young Native American boy who accidentally falls off a train and winds up on the ranch of widower John Handley (William Jordan). Although John isn't pleased to have company, he learns to appreciate the youth, who is determined to tame the horse known as "Red Fury." As Frankie attempts to integrate into the community, however, he is faced with considerable prejudice, though he finds a friend in schoolteacher Amelia Andersen (Katherine Cannon).
