Short Review

This is a fun black comedy! A parody of the dark and stormy night in the creepy old house genre. It's a cross between noir Newhart and criminal Faulty Towers with George Zucco as the Newhart-esk straight man. Even the introduction with the guy telling motorists that the bridge is washed out is played for laughs. Could anyone take a hotel called the Black Raven seriously, even as a smugglers inn? I'll have to watch it again to pick up all the sly references to genre tropes. Loved it!
