The movie gets off to a bad start. The main character, a newspaper reporter, finds the body of a woman who seems to have been murdered, and he just writes about that for his newspaper to indirectly inform the police instead of calling the police. But the rest of the movie is better. Humphrey Bogart shows that he can be creepy. The movie doesn't have any of the characters of "Doctor X." But it's similar in being a murder mystery in which the main character is a newspaper reporter and the suspects are scientists.
